Representative Blade/Vane Materials
[CF (Carbon Fiber) & CF + Lubricant-Filled PEEK]
A thermoplastic high-performance resin injection-molded from PEEK (polyether ether ketone) as the base material, filled with CF and a lubricant.
It is tough and offers excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, steam resistance, and sliding properties.
As a vacuum pump vane material, it offers superior properties compared to existing materials (carbon, phenolic resin, etc.), delivering excellent performance as a material that resolves problems that were previously considered difficult to solve.
<Characteristics>
- Exhibits good mechanical properties in the range of -60°C to 270°C. (The melting temperature is approximately 340°C.)
- Exhibits excellent tensile strength, flexural strength, fatigue resistance, wear resistance, and other properties.
- Has excellent sliding properties and can also be used in oil-free (dry) vacuum pumps.
- Low elution of components and contains no hazardous substances.
- Does not cause galling or seizing.
- Has excellent impact resistance and does not crack.
- Has excellent chemical resistance and is resistant to nearly all organic and inorganic chemicals.
- Has excellent heat resistance and steam resistance.
[GF/CF Laminated Phenolic Resin]
A product made by combining special glass fiber and carbon fiber with a phenolic resin matrix, then laminating and molding it.
[Aramid Fiber/GF/CF Laminated Phenolic Resin]
A product made by combining aramid fiber, glass fiber, and carbon fiber with a phenolic resin matrix, then laminating and molding it.
[Carbon]
Carbon refers to the element carbon, a substance that is extremely stable both thermally and chemically.
Products made of elemental carbon include coke, activated carbon, carbon black, and carbon fiber.
<Characteristics>
- Self-lubricating, does not damage mating parts, and is suitable for high-temperature environments, submerged applications, and fields where lubricants are undesirable.
- Has excellent thermal shock resistance; because its coefficient of linear thermal expansion is smaller and its thermal conductivity is better than that of metal materials, it rarely cracks even under rapid temperature changes.
- Except for strongly oxidizing acids, it is chemically resistant to attack and has excellent chemical resistance.
- Has excellent heat resistance, with almost no change in mechanical strength or sliding properties.
[Carbon Fiber]
A material made of bundled carbon fibers, primarily derived from acrylic fiber.
Highly resistant to bending stress, stronger than iron, and lightweight.
[CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic)]
A composite material of carbon fiber (CF) and resin. Its specific gravity is about one-fifth that of iron, making it lightweight.
CFRP is a resin composite based on carbon fiber, which is about one-quarter the weight and ten times the strength of iron, and has been used as a material for aircraft and wind turbine blades.
